Iron deficiency

Quick answer: Iron deficiency is the most common in the world. It manifests as marked fatigue, shortness of breath on exertion, paleness, brittle nails, and hair loss. Women (menstruation), athletes, and vegetarians are most at risk. A ferritin test confirms it.

Vitamin D deficiency

Quick answer: Vitamin D deficiency is very common in winter, as French sunlight doesn't allow for sufficient production from October to April. Symptoms: fatigue, bone and muscle pain, repeated infections, low mood. A blood test confirms it.

It's the other major deficiency in our latitudes. Vitamin D is nicknamed the "sunshine vitamin" because our skin synthesizes it through the action of UVB rays. Magnesium deficiency
